Central to re-committing to democracy is supporting pathways to legal immigration. Our democracy, and our economy, is built on a promise to provide opportunity for all, and under our current broken immigration system we are failing on this promise. We must expand pathways to legal immigration, and we need to find fair, humane, and efficient ways for people to make their way through the system. Above all, families must be kept together.

With the rapid and dangerous expansion of ICE under Trump’s administration, we must work to hold federal agents accountable, and trim their budget back to previous levels. I will not stand by while Trump funds an unauthorized and unconstitutional attack on our immigrants and on our democracy.
